AUTORITRATTO DELLA CRISI

"PORTRAIT OF CRISIS"

Architecture, Modernity, crisis and information technology

interesting and profound is the concept of crisis, taken from the words of Anthony Wise in his last publication "Introduction to the Computer Revolution, understood as" a tendency to create an aesthetic of rupture and change "through a" tension to modernity "that both will be stronger and more profound aspect of the Net will change and break.

sixties Piero Manzoni has shown us how to transform an object into a work of art should be, after all, only expose in vitro, in the shrine, a museum, even excrement is a 'work of art if an artist is . In the seventies Robert Venturi, considered as a provocative contribution, showed us how to just put a huge sign self to transform an ordinary building into a monumentum , despite derived from its etymology warning. We are in crisis because looking back at Learning from Las Vegas we understand (or pretend not to?) That things have changed, or if they are, only the surface.

Today the will demiurgic rationalist architect replaces powerfully the willingness to communicate a message. Never more than now the architecture has been a mass medium. Now seems perfectly normal and justified to apply a volumetric massing but trivial, modular technology casings, which are themselves vehicle information.

They talked about the house of a rope, and now we are in crisis.

But the word crisis comes from the verb krinw by which means to separate, divide but also figuratively decide. The architecture is a matter of choice even before of views. We decide the form, we devote the space.

ARCHITETTURA INTERATTIVA - LA FORMA CHE INFORMA

" The Charter of Zurich"

n ° 129 of the series " The Computer Revolution "

L 'ETH Zurich in the spring of 2000 , has hosted the international presentation of the series" The IT Revolution . The event was the stage for a debate based on the central theme of developments and new tendenze dell’architettura nell’era della "Rivoluzione Informatica".

Una matrice critica che individuati i nove punti nodali: giungla, visione tattile, modelli informatici, trasgressione, interattività , spazio virtuale, nuovi algoritmi, total surround , interconnessioni dinamiche; aiuti gli architetti navigate the jungle just explored the virtual world, and natural habitat of our inevitable future.

The biggest and most disturbing difference that separates the modern movement from the current trends of contemporary architecture consists of a marked change of primitive needs with which the architect must be measured. Housing and social urgency, the CIAM had responded to the rationalization of 'housing and land use, that he had tried to solve a social problem with many media projects, including one of the most famous is the concept of minimum existenz coined by Alexander Kline. Today the urgency social (though hidden beneath the apparent well-being and comfort the West) is actually replaced by the need of communications and information. The architecture that is in addition to fulfill a quasi-divine role in society actually becomes a mass medium. The casing is used as a vehicle of information technology, and if today we can compare it to a TV in the near future it will become closer to the monitor, acquiring all the characteristics of their interaction network. The architecture thus static form of art related to the building, changes in body capable of responding as a function of its context.

The concept of architecture, the legacy of a thought turned into poetry by sullivan FLWright where "form follows function" was the emblem of a refined holistic, we are today faced with a clear approach of the new designers to focus on the trends of an embryonic architecture where form follows the information, understood as the ability to acquire and transmit data, and then interact. The new frontiers of architecture lead directly to a form of architecture not only narrative but more interactive.

"Architecture [...] to articulate the space and time [...] to experience the many ways to change your life [...] that changes in part or entirely, depending on the will of its inhabitants [...] in the curve of the eternal human desires "(Gilles Ivain, 1953) this quote reported by Antonino Saggio intervention at the meeting of 11 April 2000 Zurich, inserted and interpreted in the context of the profound change from the tsunami that is driving the information revolution.

The border becomes more interesting architecture so that the comparison with the digitization and its possible interaction con lo spazio. With these new properties open architecture in front of an infinite range of possibilities previously unimaginable.

We're going in a direction where we have a mind-machine connection, in which thoughts (head of the imagination) are transferred in real time on screen. This potential has yet to be touched only in architecture, but the experts, the authors of this discussion, assume that the architecture must change according to the wishes of the user in real time. It will be dynamic as it is changing our thoughts and our desires, architecture designed come un organismo vivente fatto di pelle sensibile e in grado di muoversi, mutare ma soprattutto di reagire agli stimoli.
